Ten dollar board games

If you were ever a fan of the original Gunstar Heroes for the Genesis, then this one is for you….. Being loosely based on the original game, you choose to play as either Red or Blue and go through various stages of glorious run and gun action.

Unlike the original game for the Genesis, you lack the ability to mix and match weaponry to make for some interesting gun choices, seeing as both characters start out with all three weapons and can switch through them at any time. Just like the original game, you have a set number of hit points to blow through before you die, which does give you a bit more freedom than most games of this genre, but it does make things a bit more difficult when you die since there is no point to respawn aside from the beginning of the level.

And with a variety of endings depending on your difficulty and character, there are many reasons to keep coming back for more. Another multiplatform game that is just amazing for the price, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is probably the closest thing you can get to Perfect Dark in the last generation without actually playing Perfect Dark. While the single player is hilariously decent at best, the multiplayer is where the game really shines, by offering a map maker to let you create your own areas of combat, as well as allowing you to place weapons and armor throughout the stage in specific spawn points, and allowing a plethora of characters to choose from, ranging from zombies to monkeys.

And even if you lack an Xbox, the Playstation 2 and Gamecube versions still offer all the same features sans system link to give you many an hour of multiplayer fun. Throwing everything you knew about rhythm based gaming out the window by making you tap buttons to pop culture, Elite Beat Agents offers a nice take on rhythm based gaming.

While going through a bunch of different humorous scenarios with the Elite Beat Agents leading the characters to victory by simply dancing in the background, your main goal is to keep up with the rhythm by using the touch screen to follow along.

And for under 10 bucks, this game will give many hours of enjoyment and scratches to your DS screen. Being a remake of the original Megaman X, Maverick Hunter X offers a brand new experience with some items moved around and giving glorious 3D animations while maintaining the classic 2D platformer we all know and love.

Also included is a trial for Megaman Powered Up just to get you pumped for even more Megaman action for a later purchase down the road. And what is better than portable Megaman action on a budget? What list would be complete without the only known safari simulator that has crossed my mind ever?

If the game was a bit longer it would make for an even more enjoyable time and probably could have squeezed in all at the time pokemon instead of leaving you hanging with about 80 or so. All in all, makes for a fun afternoon and is well worth the price. Being a fairly unknown platformer from sony nonetheless, Skyblazer is a pretty amazing game.

There have been rumors circulating around the net that Undertale will indeed be ported over to consoles like the Xbox one and PlayStation 4 in the near future. On the surface, Manual Samuel feels akin to games like Octodad, Surgeon Simulator, or Goat Simulator where the mechanics are purposefully broken.

However, as you go along you realize the game has far more depth, story, and rip-roaring comedy than you initially expected. In fact, towards the end of the game, we even found ourselves sympathizing with poor Samuel despite his personality flaws in the beginning of the game. Additionally, we also found the voice acting for this game absolutely superb! Morgan is a writer, indie game lover, and socially awkward coffee addict. Need something?
