Draw fractions game

If it is a tie and the fractions are equivalent, students will play another round as a tiebreaker. Whoever wins the tiebreaker gets to keep all the cards.

Another easy fraction game for math involves using dominoes! For this game, students should play with a partner. Each will draw five dominoes and turn them over. Then, they will quickly determine the proper order to put their fractions in order to be determined by the teacher.

You will want to tell students before hand whether they should use proper or improper fractions. Students will race against their partner to be the first to accurately put them in order. For an extra challenge, have students place 10 dominoes in order instead of 5.

Fraction Turnover is a twist on the classic game, Fruit Basket Turnover. In the traditional game, players sit in chairs in a circle with one person standing in the middle. The person who is left without a seat will stand in the middle and start the next round.

Fraction Turnover works similarly. All players will be assigned a fraction — I recommend putting a picture of it in a lanyard for them to wear. The person standing in the middle will share a fact that is true about their fraction.

Are there other ways fractions are used in mathematics? Misunderstandings Research into student thinking has revealed that many students have misconceptions that hamper understanding and restrict the development of effective strategies for working with fractions. Good teaching Good teaching of fractions involves learning experiences that enable students to build a strong sense of what fractions mean in a variety of contexts and using a variety of representations to develop effective strategies.

Assessment Assessment of students' understanding of mathematics serves two main purposes — to inform further teaching, and to provide feedback to students on their own learning. Activities Student activities that appear in other parts of the drawer have been collected here.

A group of kids or only two kids can play this learning game and revise their math concepts. One person will write two numbers on the board or cards and ask the other player what the sum, product, or difference of these two numbers could be, and the other player has to solve the query and give the correct answer to win the game.

Other than kids, the teacher can also write two numbers on the board and play Salute with the class students, and the student with the correct answer will be rewarded.

It is one of the most played and fun Math games for kids. If you are a teacher, parent, or an adult playing the yes or no game with kids, then provide cards with yes or no written on them and write questions on the board. This Math learning game is mainly played with kids as an exam or test. Teachers also draw shapes, ask about odd or even digits, and many other questions. It is one of the best and easiest ways to know which concepts need to be taught again and which students lack specific concepts.

It is one of the outdoor and traditional maths learning games. Friends or private math tutors can play this game to learn production or facts more clearly but outside the boring Maths class. All you have to do is take chalk and draw Hopscotch on the ground and then write multiplication facts or products of two or more numbers in each block.

Players will hop or skip the blocks according to the correct calculations.
